Create a book of letters to your kids {perfect graduation gift!}

July 22, 2014 by Alli Leave a Comment

Create a blog full of letters to each of your kids - then turn it into a book they can keep forever!If there’s one thing I want my kids to know, it’s how much I love them. If there’s a way to show my kids how much they mean to me, I am all over it! I heard about a mom who would write letters to her kids and tuck them away for the future.

I loved that idea, but knew I just wouldn’t follow through. Writing things by hand takes too long… and gives me hand cramps 🙂 So I decided to start a blog! When Sophie was a couple of months old, I opened up a blog on blogspot and wrote my first letter. I did the same thing for Owen when he was born.

My goal is to write every other month or so, or when something happens that I want to record for them. I don’t always reach my goal, but I try my best! The blog is set on private, so no one sees it but me.

My plan is to keep writing on these blogs, then I’ll compile the letters into a book to give to each kid when they go off to college. They have no idea that the blogs exist, and never will, so it will be a complete surprise! {There are a bunch of companies that make it easy to turn your blog into a book, such as: Blurb, Blog2Print, Blogbooker, and FastPencil}

It is so much fun to write these letters to my kids. I love being able to put all of my thoughts and feelings into words in a way that they are too young to understand right now. I tell them why I love them, the funny things that they do, sweet moments we share together, and anything that comes to mind!

I can’t wait to be able to give them these books in the future. I just know they’re going to love it 🙂
