10 Seconds of Dance

September 8, 2014 by Alli 2 Comments

Let kids get their wiggles out at the end of the day by having a quick dance break!

As I’ve mentioned before, Sophie has quite the personality. She loves music and dances around the house to her own made-up songs. She’s also crazy good at remembering lyrics to songs on the radio.

Not even kidding – we’ll be in the car and a random song will come on {that I don’t even know} and she’ll start singing along! How does she do that???

I’m not sure where it comes from, but her taste in music is a little… ghetto. She loves to bump it to the likes of Iggy Azalea while she scribbles in her Doc McStuffins coloring book. She’s also been known to strut through the house singing “I’m so fancyyyy”  at the top of her lungs.

But the girl also rocks out to Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.
What can I say? She’s well-rounded.

Playing to her strengths, we have a little tradition of a quick 10-second dance break before bedtime. I count {slowly} from 1-10 while the kiddos dance their hearts out!

It’s a great way to let out any last wiggles before bedtime and is so much fun! Once they are wiggle-free, we jump into the normal bedtime routine, and let them settle back down. They absolutely love our little dance parties, and have become something we all look forward to!

Even sweet little Owen has a few moves of his own 🙂
