I think it’s safe to say that I love felt.
I mean reeeaaally love felt.
It’s the perfect crafting tool, especially for little kids. I love that it sticks to itself, so you can make fun projects like this Halloween Felt Board and this cute Jack-O’-Lantern we have today!
This little craft is super simple, all you need is felt (orange, green, and black), scissors, and a hot glue gun. Any craft store (or even walmart) will have sheets of felt. For the pumpkin and stem, I wanted something a little more sturdy, so I used the “stiffened” felt, that isn’t as soft and flexible as regular felt.
The first thing you need to do is cut out a pumpkin shape out of the orange felt – you can eyeball it or trace it, whatever you prefer 🙂 Then, cut out a small, green rectangle and glue it to the top of your pumpkin.
Lastly, just cut out a bunch of black pieces that can be used for the face. I did squares, triangles, stars, circles, and a bunch of fun shapes for the mouth.
Cut out as many shapes as you want for the face. The more you have, the more fun it will be to play with!
Once you have all your pieces, you’re good to go! Let your little monkeys change out the face and play around with it. It’s so cute, you can even leave it out as a decoration 🙂
