Free Friday

FREE FRIDAY One night a month, the kids plan family night! They choose dinner, dessert and activity!

So, I’m posting about “Free Friday”… on a Saturday. Halloween kind of consumed our weekend, so I might be a bit behind 🙂

But if you think about it, I’m just giving y’all plenty of time to prep for next Friday, so… you’re welcome!

FREE FRIDAY One night a month, the kids get to plan family night! They choose dinner, dessert and activity!

The concept behind Free Friday is simple – once a month, the kids get to rule the house! We have a family night where the kiddos get to be in charge – they pick what we have for dinner, what snack we make, and what activity we do!

Because I can count the number of words in Owen’s vocabulary on one hand, Sophie gets to choose everything 🙂 But as soon as Owen is old enough, they’ll take turns.

This particular night, we made pizza! We were really fancy about it, and used a premade crust. It was whole wheat crust though, so I get points for that, right?

We also made some caramel apples. Again, I took the lazy route and used store-bought caramels {No healthy points here}.

We ended the night watching Wreck-it-Ralph, which we all loved. Someone may even teared up a bit {Hint: It was Jonny}.

I was missing a piece to my tripod, so I had to be behind the camera for all the shots. Luckily, I’m a bit of a computer whiz, so you’d never know I wasn’t actually in the picture.

Oh my gosh, those candy apples look amazing and my kids and I love Wreck It Ralph! My oldest pretended he was Fix It Felix and carried around a toy hammer for probably 4 months. Also, you definitely have some wizardry skills with that photo editing. I never would have known you weren’t in the picture. 🙂
