I called this a “Thanksgiving” gratitude journal, but I am a firm believer that gratitude is NOT just for November. So feel free to use this thing all year round!
I love the quote by Gordon B. Hinckley that says,
I am definitely guilty of “seeking out the storms” sometimes, which is silly, because it only makes me miserable! The more I focus on the good, the happier I am. And the happier I am, the happier my kiddos are 🙂
Back in college, my roommates and I kept “happy books” – which were basically gratitude journals. We wrote down a giant list of things that made us happy. The more we wrote, the more things we thought of! We soon realized those lists would never end – and that’s a good thing!
Now, I have my gratitude journal. It’s a place I can record all of the blessings I have received, and all of the things I am grateful for. There is no better way to improve your mood than to dwell on all of the positive things around you! (Except maybe chocolate… that always makes me feel better). It’s incredibly uplifting and eye-opening to keep track of everything that you’re grateful for.
So I challenge you to keep a gratitude journal! Whether it’s long entries or just a giant list, I promise you won’t regret it!
