We’re not big “game” people in our house, but one game we ALL love is memory. It’s one of the first games Sophie learned how to play, and she’s gotten pretty good!
She has a habit of making up her own rules, though. It doesn’t matter how many times I explain them to her, she thinks that as long as she doesn’t fully turn a card over, then it doesn’t count. So she tries to sneak little peeks at all the cards until she finds her match. No wonder she always wins 🙂
This is her “I just got a match because I cheated” face.
I thought it would be fun to make our own memory game, and it was a lot easier than I thought! I put together the images and printed them out. Then I used a paper cutter to cut them into neat little squares, and laminated them! Lucky for you, I did all the image work for you. You’re welcome 🙂 Just go HERE for the pdf file. It contains 2 pages of images, and be sure to print it twice so you have 2 sets. I printed mine on white card stock to make them more sturdy.
Next comes cutting. If you don’t have a paper cutter, I would strongly recommend getting one. I use mine alllll the time. You can find one HERE*.
My mom bought me a handy dandy laminator a while back. Honestly, I wasn’t sure how much I would use it. I’m happy to say, I use that baby a ton! I laminate anything I can get my hands on. So… thanks mom! You can find a laminator HERE* (this is the one I have, and it works great!). If you don’t want to buy one, just take it into a shop and they can do it for you.
Once they’re laminated, cut them into squares again, leaving a little space around the edges so the seal stays intact. And, that’s it! Easy peasy.
