Springtime has arrived here in Arkansas, and we couldn’t be happier! We’ve been playing outside in shorts and t-shirts, and it’s been absolutely lovely. So to celebrate I decided to create an Easter craft, and this is what we came up with.
These fun little egg pouches were super easy to whip up, and Soph had a blast with them!
Here’s what you need:
Heavy duty paper (I used a roll of shipping paper from Hobby Lobby)
Acrylic paint
Paint brushes
Scissors
Stapler
Filler – paper, cotton, candy… whatever you want!
Start off by cutting out your eggs. I folded the paper in half and cut out 2 at a time, that way my eggs came in sets. You want to make sure each egg has a match, because you need 2 eggs of the same size for each pouch.
Then paint and decorate them however you want! No making fun of my artistic skills. I never claimed to be a craft blogger 🙂
Once the paint has dried, start stapling the matched eggs together. Make sure your staples are close together so none of your filling will come out.
When you’ve made it 2/3 of the way around, you should be able to open it up into a pouch! At this point, you can stuff them with whatever you want. I filled mine with the paper grass you put in Easter baskets, because mine are just for decoration. But you could fill them with candy and they’d make fun little Easter gifts!
Once your little guys are filled to your liking, just staple them shut and you’re done! Stay tuned to see where Soph and I put our finished eggs 🙂
